Project: Innovative support to pollinators in urban areas of MOM
Project co-financed by Municipality of Maribor, via JRMOM-VON-2026
Today we celebrate the International Wildlife Day, proclaimed by United Nations. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness of the importance of conservation of wild animals and plants and their habitats worldwide.
The date coincides with the anniversary of the signature of CITES, which regulates international trade in endangered species and contributes to their protection.
Wildlife species are the foundation of a healthy environment – they allow pollination, preserve soil fertility, regulate climate and ensure ecosystem stability.
May today be an opportunity to consider how we can contribute to nature conservation – through responsible consumption, respect for natural habitats and support for sustainable practices.
