We are launching the bee-friendly settlement project !
Municipality of Poljčane together with the Institute for Environmental Protection Promotion, led by prof. ddr. Anne Vovk is entering a wonderful project that will make our environment greener, more vibrant and friendly to bees and other pollinators.
What do we do?
In the weeks to come, we will work together on new honey surfaces, build shelters for useful insects and strengthen blue-green infrastructure that improves biodiversity, microclimate and quality of life in our area.
What does the project involve?
Planting honey plants– We will select 15-20 native species to feed pollinators throughout the season.
Building hotel structures for insects– We will create safe havens for solitary bees, ladybugs and other useful insects.
Educational workshops– through three thematic workshops, we will learn about honey plants, useful insects and practical ways in which each of us can contribute to a bee-friendly place.
Educational information board– The new board will present the importance of pollinators, plants and natural solutions in an accessible way.
Community participation– activities will involve citizens, pupils and local associations.

Why is that important?
Bees and other pollinators are key to food safety, nature health and ecosystem stability. By working together, we can create a place where nature breathes, blooms — and buzzes.
Together we create a place that is more beautiful, healthier and friendly to life.
